800 Years of Historic Experience

Unparalleled Facilities in the Heart of Dublin

Dublin Castle has been holding events for 800 years; that’s what you’d call a proven track record. The Castle is in the heart of the city and the heart of Irish history. Past events include the handing over of the Castle to Michael Collins in 1922, EU presidencies in 1996, 2004 and 2013, the visit of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to Ireland in 2011, and the celebrations marking the passage of the Marriage Equality Referendum in 2015. The Castle today is one of the country’s premier cultural sites and is used by the Government for prestigious functions of State, most significantly the inauguration of the President.

The Castle has a habit of bringing your concept to life. We have six unique spaces. Give us a call and we’ll give your idea a home.

Dublin City

Dublin City: a thriving, cosmopolitan European capital with Dublin Castle at its heart. Here, the fusion of history and heritage with a young highly skilled population explains why this is a city with a passion for the arts, a coveted location for multinational corporate headquarters and a major transatlantic gateway.

An event in Dublin Castle provides delegates an opportunity to explore one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations.

A Portfolio of Historic Buildings

A conference in Dublin Castle provides a unique opportunity to share in the Castle’s colourful history. The State Apartments (one of the most important suites of state rooms in the country), the thirteenth-century Medieval Tower, the neo-Gothic Chapel Royal and the Viking Excavation, containing the remains of the Norman foundations, are all located on the site.

The Terrace Café overlooks the Castle Gardens and the Coach House at the back of the Castle. The latter now houses a modern gallery which has a vibrant programme of exhibitions throughout the year. Also in the Castle Gardens is the Chester Beatty Library which contains manuscripts and works of art from as far away as Sumatra and Japan, illustrating human history from 2,500 BC to the present.

In addition to Dublin Castle, the Office of Public Works has other sites for hire. Click below to read more about four exceptional historic properties in Dublin or nearby that are available for events. Contact us to discuss the best fit for your event.
